We believe in transparent data practices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data when using I-CALL-ON.

1.2. Data We Collect

Account Information:

  • Authentication Data: Email address, password (hashed), and authentication tokens via Supabase Auth
  • Session Data: Strictly necessary cookies and identifier tokens required for secure authentication and game access.

Profile Information:

  • Nicknames/display names chosen by users.

Gameplay Data:

  • Performance Metrics: Win/loss records, total game scores, match history.
  • "Grudge" System Data: Peer-to-peer voting interactions tracking which players vote to "Veto" (reject) other players' answers.
  • Reputation Scores: Automated scores calculated based on fair play accuracy.
  • Session Analytics: Words submitted, votes cast, final scores, and game timestamps.

Technical Data:

  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers.
  • Connection Data: IP addresses (often logged automatically by Vercel/Supabase for security and debugging).
  • Error Logs: Crash reports and performance data via Sentry error tracking.

1.3. How We Use Your Data

Service Provision

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To facilitate real-time multiplayer matchmaking.
  • To save and display your game progress and statistics.
  • To calculate and display reputation scores and grudge metrics.

Communication

  • To send system updates, game notifications, and important announcements.

  • To notify you of material changes to our policies.

Improvement & Security

  • To analyze gameplay patterns (e.g., which words prompt the most vetos).
  • To debug technical issues and improve game performance.

1.4. Data Storage & Retention

Storage Locations:

  • Primary Hosting: Self-managed VPS (HostAfrica, South Africa).
  • Database: Supabase instance hosted on our VPS in South Africa.
  • Analytics: Sentry (error tracking).

Retention Periods:

  • Active Accounts: Data retained while account is active.
  • Account Deletion: Personal data deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
  • Game Logs: Anonymous gameplay analytics may be retained indefinitely for statistical analysis.
  • Backup Data: Encrypted backups retained for up to 90 days before secure destruction.
  • Inactive Guest Accounts: We reserve the right to delete unauthenticated guest accounts and their associated temporary data after 90 days of inactivity to maintain server performance.

1.5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

  • Service Providers: Sentry (Error tracking), HostAfrica (Hosting).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by Nigerian law.
  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

1.6. User-Generated Content

Public Information

  • Nickname, reputation score, win/loss records.
  • In-game voting history (vetoes).
  • Gameplay actions visible to session participants.

Private Information

  • Email addresses.
  • Password hashes.
  • Authentication tokens.

1.7. Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of your data via legal@icallon.online.
  • Correction & Deletion: Update via settings or request deletion via support email. Deletion typically processed within 30 days.
  • Objection: You may object to certain processing, though it may limit functionality.

1.8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect info from children under 13. Parents should contact us if they suspect otherwise.

  • TLS/SSL Encryption for transmission.

2. Terms of Service

2.1. Acceptance

By accessing I-CALL-ON, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, do not use our service.

2.2. Beta / Early Access Disclaimer

SERVICE STATUS:

I-CALL-ON IS CURRENTLY IN "BETA". THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS". WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING AVAILABILITY. DATA LOSS OR CRASHES MAY OCCUR.

NO WARRANTY:

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY NIGERIAN LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

2.3. Account Requirements

  • You may use guest access for limited play.
  • Full features require valid email registration.
  • You are responsible for your account security.
  • Multiple Accounts: Creating multiple accounts to exploit mechanics is prohibited.

2.4. Code of Conduct

Nickname Policy:

No hate speech, slurs, impersonation, or offensive terms.

Gameplay Behavior:

No harassment, bullying, or intentional sabotage/collusion.

Cheating:

No bots, scripts, or exploitation of bugs.

2.5. Grudge & Reputation

The Grudge system tracks voting patterns. The Reputation system scores fair play. Scores are public. Systematic targeting may result in penalties.

2.6. Moderation

We reserve the right to suspend/terminate accounts for violations without notice. Appeals can be sent to support@icallon.online.

2.7. Intellectual Property

We own the game code, brand, and assets. You have a limited license to play. By playing, you grant us a license to display your stats and gameplay data.

2.8. Monetization

Currently free (Beta). We may introduce premium features, account limits, or ads in the future. You will be notified of changes.

2.9. Limitation of Liability

To the max extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages, data loss, or service interruptions. Total liability capped at amount paid in last 12 months or $10 USD.

2.12. Dispute Resolution

Governed by laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes resolved via informal negotiation, then mediation in Lagos, then litigation. Class actions waived.
